1. Eat protein at every meal. Protein help you regulate your appetite and it takes a long time for your body to digest which keeps you full longer.
2. Fill up on vegetables. Vegetables are packed with fiber and nutrients and yet they give you very few calories. When you eat vegetables with your meal or as a snack they help keep your blood sugar from swinging up and down and this helps you control cravings.
3. Exercise. The best way to control your weight is with regular exercise. Any exercise will help you and if you are not currently in the habit of exercising start slow and work your way up. Start with 10 minute walks and then work to increase your time and intensity.
4. Focus more on being healthy than on a number on the scale. You will find it easier to control your weight if you focus on how good it feels to eat healthy and to exercise regularly than if you are always striving to hit a specific number on the bathroom scale.
5. Commit to doing one thing really well. It can feel overwhelming to think about all the different things you could do to lose weight so avoid the overwhelm by committing to doing one thing and doing it well. Once you have that one thing down as a habit you will feel ready to add more to your routine.
